Victor A. Mirelman, a native of Argentina, has taught Jewish history at Spertus Institute for many years. Previously, Dr. Mirelman taught at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Columbia University, and the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is a leading expert in the history of the Jews in Latin America and published a definitive history of the Jews of Argentina.

Dr. Mirelman is rabbi emeritus of West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, which he has served since 1990.

Dr. Mirelman is currently Faculty Chair and Student Advisor for Jewish Studies graduate programs at Spertus.
